Needless to say, we went to the Days Inn in Newton, KS and were treated with respect.
I don't usually say anything, especially a bad review. Unfortunately, I was unable to go back to management and speak with them directly.
Really nice hotel. I was there for business. The bed was comfy. The room was super big, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Very good breakfast and super friendly staff. Good location also.
There is a continental breakfast which is also good. They have different kinds of eggs and sausage. They also have cereal, biscuits and waffles.
Nice hotel. A little dated, but it is a very comfortable stay. There is a pool and a weight room. The weight room has a treadmill, bike and weight lifting equipment.
Staff here is especially friendly and helpful. They even recommended a nice restaurant that gives a discount to their guests
Quiet and clean rooms. Indoor swimming pool is nice however the seating area leaves a lot to be desired. Right off the highway with decent parking and a Braum's restaurant is about 100 feet away from the front door.
She rudely demanded my identification and credit card. Crudely told me there is $10 for my dog (which they ran separately, even though I had put that in my reservation). We mentioned being there for the funeral and hearing of the bereavement discount, instead we were rudely told not to smoke in the room and sent to the second floor (almost as if you send away a child who has disrupted you).
We arrived in Newton Kansas at 530 am, after driving for around 16 hrs. We are there for a funeral. I booked the room on the way, unsure when we would arrive. The over night attendant was very rude to us, saying she had already closed yesterday's reservations. (I can see one reservation on the clipboards beside her.) I pull up my reservation and read to her the Guarantee Policy, "Your room will be held until 7:00 AM the morning following your scheduled arrival date. If you do not arrive and do not cancel your reservation by the cancellation deadline, your credit card will be charged 1 night's stay plus tax."
If I had not known of this policy, this attendant would have taken advantage of me and charged me $220 for 4-5 hours of hotel service. I wanted to pay for a place to sleep a few hours before attending the funeral. But instead I paid for a few hours and an attitude I would not allow my children to give me.
